So yeah we have the sulfur and mercury theory of Jabir. You may ask, "what must be the amount of sulfur and mercury to be able to make gold?" That question was impossible to answer since there was no exact value set by Jabir. Until now.

This text will try to present a probable solution to the question.

The Periodic Table

It tells them different information about elements - the atomic number, weight, properties, etc. Of course, the periodic table can also be useful to alchemists since older generation of alchemists indirectly influenced its creation. Meaning, there are traces of alchemy in the periodic table.

Platinum = Gold + Silver, Establishing the Pattern Set By Alchemists

In the periodic table, platinum (Pt) is element 78. To the right of platinum is gold (Au) which is element 79. On top of gold is silver (Ag) which is element 47.

Cadmium

Cadmium has 48 protons. Surprisingly, we can evenly divide the number of protons of cadmium by the number of protons of sulfur, which has 16 protons.

48/16 = 3.

Thus, Cadmium is 3x the value of sulfur.


Gold = Mercury + Sulfur

Gold is one part Mercury and 3 parts Sulfur.
